Our Story

On October 14, 2022, on a beautiful Friday afternoon, Pat and Jamie had each made separate plans to meet friends for happy hour, fully expecting an easy night and an early bedtime. However, little did they know their Friday night plans were about to change.

Pat’s evening shifted when a friend suggested catching a Crooked Colours show at the Ogden Theater in Denver later that night. He wasn’t particularly interested until his friend added, “I know a girl you might like.”

Similarly, Jamie had no intention of going out until the same mutual friend called to invite her to the show, adding, “I have a friend going. He’s tall and older. I think you might like him.”

The rest, as they say, is history.

From that night on, we spent nearly every day together. Just two months into dating, Pat joked, “I’m going to leave a piece of clothing at your place every time I come over. I’ll be fully moved in by March.” It was meant as a joke, but it turned out to be closer to the truth than either of us expected. In May 2023, we moved into our first home together, a “little farmhouse” in Old Town Arvada, Colorado—which set the tone for the life we began building as partners.

We spent a little over two years in Denver getting to know each other on countless hikes, camping and ski trips, and at various concerts (Crooked Colours, Purple Disco Machine, Bob Moses, Ben Böhmer, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Phish, and Anderson .Paak). We went on road trips—including our first, which lasted two weeks in my little Honda HR-V with Kenobi and Pat’s mountain bike—visiting 18 cities and spending 53 hours in the car. We attended more than 10 friends’ weddings and traveled to eight states together: Florida, Puerto Rico, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Utah, and California. Of course, we also spent plenty of time gardening and brewery-hopping, both agreeing that New Terrain was our ultimate favorite brewery.

On July 1, 2025, we moved our little family—Kenobi, Parker, and all of our plants—to the Pacific Northwest together.

Three years to the day after we met, on October 14, 2025, Pat proposed. He nervously waited for me to come home from the gym. When I walked into the house, I heard our song, “So Real” by Easy Giant, playing, and Kenobi greeted me wearing a bandana that read, “Will you marry my dad?” I said “What? What? What?” about a million times before finally saying, “Of course!”

Then, on November 3, 2025, while we were visiting my parents in New Jersey, we found out that I was pregnant. In that moment, our lives changed forever. We joke that our life is in fast-forward; however, what’s the use in waiting when we know we are meant to be? ♡
